Walker Womble
GREENSBORO CITY LEAD + OWNER
Walker was born and raised in Greensboro. She began her college journey at NC State before transferring to UNC-Chapel Hill, where she earned a degree in Biology. After graduation, she returned to Greensboro for a couple of years before pursuing her dream of becoming a Physician Assistant at Wake Forest School of Medicine. She moved to Winston-Salem in 2014 to attend graduate school and has called the city home ever since. Throughout her career as a PA, Walker has gained diverse experience, including several years in the ER, family medicine, and now anesthesia.
In 2016, Walker met her husband, Davis, at a dive bar in downtown Winston. The two married in Reynolda Gardens in 2021 after several Covid-related delays. In September 2024, they joyfully welcomed their daughter, Harris, into the world.
Walker became involved with the Mom League's Newborn Series in October 2024 and quickly fell in love with their mission of fostering community, friendship, and local support for moms during their fourth trimester. With family and friends in Greensboro, she often visits the area and wanted to bring the same sense of connection and support to moms in her hometown. Walker is excited to introduce Mom League to Greensboro, offering a much-needed community for local mothers.

Kathryn Beam, LCMHCA, NCC, PMH-C
NEWBORN SERIES INSTRUCTOR
Kathryn is a Greensboro native and proud Appalachian State University alum. She has been working in the mental health field for over a decade, and earned her Master’s in Couple and Family Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is a Perinatal Mental Health Therapist, and holds her Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International.
Kathryn is the owner and clinician of Kathryn Beam Counseling, where she walks alongside women through all phases of their reproductive journey - from the heartache of infertility, to the ups and downs of pregnancy, to finding your footing in postpartum, and the ongoing adventure of raising little ones. Kathryn specializes in Perinatal Mental Health and the role of matrescence - or “mother becoming,” and all the ways it shapes our minds, bodies, relationships, and sense of self.
Kathryn and her husband Matt have three children, ages 8, 6, and almost 3. Having experienced the highs and lows of postpartum herself, she is passionate about supporting and educating women so they can feel empowered in their unique journey into motherhood, without judgment. Kathryn believes in the beauty of Good Enough Mothering, the importance of recovery and repair in relationships, and the practice of radical self-compassion. At her core she holds the mission that all postpartum women should have the opportunity to feel seen, held, heard, and supported.
When she’s not with clients or spending time with her “little ducklings,” Kathryn enjoys drinking her coffee while it’s hot (ha!), experimenting with new recipes, sharing a good meal with friends, or curled up on the couch with a book.
