Newborn Classes

Raleigh

After your baby is born, your life changes overnight. You’re more in love than ever before, are majorly sleep deprived, on a rollercoaster of emotions and have an endless amount of questions. There’s so much you’re all the sudden supposed to know. You took all the baby prep classes, but it feels like no one truly prepared you for this. Motherhood is a whole new ballgame.

But you don’t have to go through it alone. Mom League’s curated curriculum covers all the newborn topics you need to know about - all in one place.

More than that, you’ll find a built in community of other moms going through the same changes that you are. You’ll find an opportunity to learn, laugh, share and unite with other moms. So whether you’re a first-time mom, or you’ve done this before, we welcome you to join us. Every baby and postpartum experience is unique and every mom deserves a squad and a team of curated experts to carry her through.

Meet the Raleigh ML Team

  • Sarah Szymanowski, LCMHCA

    NEWBORN SERIES INSTRUCTOR

Sarah Szymanowski added “mom” to her resume in 2014, a shift in identity that would lead her career to perinatal mental health. Sarah first spent 10 years working in mental health and community settings as a music therapist. After going back to grad school (go Pack!), she now runs Fermata Counseling, providing one on one therapy focusing on perinatal mental health and issues encountered in early motherhood.

One of the most essential factors for postpartum wellness cannot be found in a doctor’s office or even in a therapy session  — it is community and social support. Sarah is thrilled to be partnering with Mom League to provide this space for moms in the Raleigh area.

Sarah lives in Raleigh with her three boys, her partner, and her dog Ginny. When she’s not momming or being a therapist, you may find her playing cello or working in the garden.

  • Julie Daniel, LCSW, PMH-C

    NEWBORN SERIES INSTRUCTOR

Julie has lived in the Raleigh area since attending NC State in 2012. She received her BSW and MSW from there and has spent time working in foster care, community mental health, and private practice. She has been a therapist since 2019, finding her passion in supporting people going through infertility and perinatal mental health issues after having her son in 2022. Julie found when she became a mom, there is a lot not talked about and plenty of room for shame, isolation, and all the feelings that come along with the transition of motherhood. She received her PMH-C in 2024 and currently works at Seasons of Life Therapy Services, a small group practice, supporting individuals and couples trying to get pregnant and those in postpartum.

When not in the therapist chair, Julie loves going on walks with her son, dinner dates with her husband, and indulging in her not-so-guilty pleasure of reality TV. She has also found a community at Burn Boot Camp that allows for challenging her postpartum body while being surrounded by many other parents. She looks forward to working with new moms to build their community through Mom League!

“Being a new mother is all so wonderful and scary at the same time, and having a support group and place to share experiences is so special.”

“Being a first-time mama I was terrified to start my journey into motherhood, and Mom League helped to ease my anxiety. I was very nervous the first class to meet other moms and share my experience however, that quickly subsided with each class.”
